Independent American reggae artist Marc Albanese (Harmonyville) sings, plays, writes and creates modern reggae music inspired by the foundational sounds of Jamaica. The “Harmonyville” sound is positive, conscious and spirited… an organic, analog and modern vision inspired by and grounded in roots, rocksteady, lovers, dub, dancehall music. Employing live acoustic instrumentation, passion and soul, Harmonyville is a distinct and article new reggae sound. Performs live and records all vocal, guitar, bass and (virtually all) drum tracks.

Thirteen re-interpretations of classics from the great Jamaican artists Dennis Brown, Bob Marley, Luciano, Beres Hammond, Sugar Minott, Alton Ellis, Gregory Isaacs, Barrington Levy, The Jamaicans, The Heptones and Carlton and the Shoes.

The LIVE SOLO REGGAE SHOW features spontaneous, on-the-spot loops and riddims (no pre-recorded tracks), using just a mic and an acoustic guitar. Each performance, each song is unique… raw, live, dynamic and improvisational.

Marc was a member of the Boston reggae band ONE PEOPLE “The Children of Funky Reggae” from 1992 to 2004. Co-produced three albums and played over a thousand shows at festivals, colleges, concerts, clubs and events. Performed and shared the stage with luminaries like Burning Spear, Culture, Israel Vibration, Eek-A-Mouse, Anthony B, Itals, Leroy Sibbles, Meditations, Mutabaruka, Outkast, De La Soul, Run DMC, Naughty By Nature, Moe, Dispatch, Disco Biscuits and Soul Coughing.

His journey began with a cassette of Bob Marley’s “Rastaman Vibration” played non-stop. The hypnotic rhythms and melodies propelling themes of peace, love and equality left an indelible mark. He is particularly fond of the pre-reggae rocksteady of the late sixties (Studio One, Treasure Isle), the roots reggae of the seventies (especially the singers) and early dub and dancehall.

Today he is singing good vibes somewhere.
